That is the same mileage mine started and yes mine was annoying me terribly as well. That's why I HAD to try the Loctite approach.I first noticed the clunking sound at about 200miles. It is very frustrating. I also had mine at the dealer in august and was told they couldn’t find anything wrong but sent a video to polaris. So basically the driveshaft/hub has play is what I’m learning so if I buy Rhino axles that should fix the issue? This clunking is driving me nuts.
I personally would not purchase an aftermarket axle yet. What if it is the hub that is oversized rather than the axle undersized ?
I don't think it is the hub but every clunk you hear is play between two splines. Anytime there is clearance between machined parts that move (clunk) there is strong opportunity for wear on both surfaces. I believe the true repair will be an axle and also a hub.
Mine was clearly on the left side so that is the side I performed the Loctite band side and for a week has silenced mine.
Can you tell what side your noise is coming from?
