How many miles, hours, and issues have you had?

He Guys, I have wanted to purchase a new 2025 ranger 1500, and after finally excepting spending 50,000 and reading all these problems I wonder if the 2025 are any better. I don't mind spending money on quality stuff but some of the problems I see here shouldn't happen for that kind of money. I hope polaris reads these isues and corrected them.

rick-You're always going to hear about the shit that goes wrong on a forum like this, most people don't share when everything works as it should since that's the expectation. A few here have more than their fair share of headaches and have shared those with the group. Overall, I'm VERY happy with my XD and don't have any regrets. 2024 models have a 1-year warranty and 3 on the motor and transmission. 2025's have a 2-year warranty which is twice as much as Polaris has offered before. There is also rebate money out there and motivated dealers to move units. Good luck with your decision.

Forums aren’t a great place to gather info. You know why? There are always more satisfied customers-but they don’t come into here.

Seriously for the most part the problems we discuss are minuscule. Aside from my engine replacement. Transmission and engine problems are darn near un herd of. It all comes back to software updates, clunks rattles and squeakes. Don’t let that discourage you.

I’ve had problems but still wouldn’t buy a xp. I’ll stick with my xd.

Agree with most of above. I have the clunk and would still buy this machine. The forum is invaluable for surfacing the known issues to Polaris, I know from my past history with a different forum that they use these forums to reverse engineer and correct problems.
After all the 1500 is the most innovative luxurious side x side on the market, bar none.

I'm still wanting to buy one, as long as my dealer is going to take care of any problems perhaps getting a extended warranty might be a worth while investment. Thanks guys for the encouragement.

Just bought our 1500 yesterday. Dealer told us we have until the end of the 1st year warranty(anytime prior to the end of the 1st year warranty) to decide if we wanted to add 1, 2 or 3 years to our warranty. That would make it a total of a 3, 4 or 5 year warranty. Also said zero deductible per warranty item the first year and $50 deductible per item for the second year. Not sure if the deductible is any different for the 3rd, 4th and 5th years.

I'm getting close to having mine for a year, so I called the dealer to check extended warranty prices. I NEVER buy extended warranties but thought I would check to see if there was bargain to be had, this is what I found out.
2-year was $2560, 4-year was $3379. (the better deal but I won't have it 4 years from now) This was NOT through Polaris, and I don't remember the name of the company. I told him he was F---ing nuts if he thought I'd pay almost $2600 for a 2-year warranty. That's when he told me that if I didn't take the battery coverage it would be lowered to $2127. Now I asak you who in their right mind would pay an extra $433 for 2 years' worth of battery coverage? First of all, the odds of needing a new battery after 3 years are not that great if you take care of your machine. Second if I do need a new battery, I can likely buy one for under a $100 and install it myself.
So, here's the lesson I learned from this conversation, if you're going to buy the extended warranty see if there is a way to reduce the cost without giving up much protection. I think most anyone would skip the battery coverage for the $433 savings.

So I'm still waiting to hear how much the coverage would cost though Polaris to see if it's more or less. Since the motor and transmission still have 2 years of factory warranty left I'll likely skip it altogether. By the time they are expired I'll likely buy a new machine anyway.

On Friday we were quoted $2,680, $3,400 and $4,040 for the Polaris 3, 4 & 5 years extended warranty. Don't know if you can drop off anything like the battery you mentioned Big Red. For what it's worth the dealer said this warranty would be honored by any Polaris dealer if we were traveling. Some dealers won't perform the warranty work under off brand warranty coverage. That being said I'm guessing you'd still be subject to how quick any particular dealer could get you in to do the work. IE if you were trail riding 3 states away and needed warranty work done but no dealer in that area could get you in for 2-3 weeks would more or less negate the "any Polaris dealer" honoring the warranty on them idea.
