How many miles, hours, and issues have you had?

Same, I’ve been running 91 “clear gas” for years. In all of my generators, saws, wood splitter, atv’s. When I spoke with my dealer about some issues I had while elk hunting. The first thing he asked was if I was running pump gas or clear. I said clear, and he said switch to pump for a couple tanks, and I bet the issue goes away. He said he’d even back by paying for the pump gas if it doesn’t work.
So what is "pump gas" and what is "clear gas"? In my area we have about 4 main choices and they are listed in order of cost.

1. E85 - Not approved for our machines.
2. 89 octane which contains 10% ethanol.
3. 87 octane which contains no ethanol.
4. 91 octane which contains no ethanol.

89 octane with 10% ethanol is what is used by 90% of the vehicles in the area. Very few run the E85 even if their vehicle will run it. Not sure why anyone would use the 87 octane with no ethanol anymore, it used to be the same price as the ethanol version, but we live in farm country and the politicians changed that. 91 octane no ethanol for old vehicles, small motors and higher horsepower cars and trucks.
 
Got a 6 seat crew in July. Just over 200 miles and just over 20 hrs. Steering wheel was not aligned right, got it back and steering was a mess. Replaced steering gear box, still wasn’t 100%. They are putting another steering gear box in it now.

Right before it went in engine ran rough for a few moments, got flashing them solid check engine light. Then went away. Told dealer and they said they already saw the issue and it was a bad spark plug.

I only use non-ethanol 91 octane gas.

Plastic fitment issues with the dash and columns on both sides. That is getting fixed now as well.

So what we call “clear gas is 91 octane, with 0 ethanol” you either hear it called clear gas, or ethanol free. But it’s always 91 octane.

Pump gas, is either:
Regular 87 octane with ethanol
Plus/mid grade 89 octane with ethanol
Premium 92 octane with ethanol.

All pump gas has 10% ethanol in Oregon.

I’ve always ran clear 91/92 octane non ethanol in all small motors. Saws, generators, atv’s, splitter, lawn mower, weed trimmer, etc.

The ethanol will get gelled up in fuel lines, carbs, etc. and the fuel stabilizers don’t work. Experienced it out tuna fishing and crabbing out on the coast one time. Generator in toy hauler wouldn’t start. Carb was all jacked up and looked like gelatin. Switched over to clear gas and never had an issue again for 9 years before selling it.
 
1.7 Miles. Check Chassis Idiot light is on. Barely off trailer after purchase and right back to the dealer where it has been there ever since. Bought on 9/30, in shop on 10/1 where it remains. According to them they need to change the VCM which will hopefully be here Monday. Then they will need to call Polaris to reprogram the machine. Anyone else have an issue like this?

Decided to take two dealer to have complete service done. Also to have him check on some of the issues all you folks have been having.
After loading, I noticed the winch hook was highly compressed in the front. Went to slack it off and didn’t work. Apparently, winch tightened itself up and burned up the motor without me knowing it. This is not the grounding issue in the recall, this is another issue that the dealer doesn’t know how it occurred. The auto shut off didn’t work and apparently the winch motor smoked. Replaced the winch and appears to be working now. The only time I ever use the winch was to pretension the cable.

Nephew bought new 1500. Immediately we took to Hatfield/McCoy trails West Virginia. Numerous nuts and bolts fell out from underneath dash. Some large ones which appeared to go to ROPS
Loud pops and clicks from suspension would occur from time to time. But unable to find what would cause it. Took it into dealer and he fixed in 15 minutes without being forthcoming as to the issue. Suspect sway bar loose.

My winch done the same, figured out my son’s knee operated it in unwind with his knee. It must have went backwards enough to wad the rope up and start pulling it back in. The magnetic switch does not work in unwind rotation
 
So it's natural to complain when our XD let's us down, nobody likes a broken machine especially one that cost as much as a damn truck. So this post is to give us a feel of just how many people are experiencing real issues with their machine that has given them headaches and downtime. Don't post the growing pain shit that everyone knows about (leaking windshield, software updates, wrench in display, and so on) just post the stuff that has had you down or made you take it into the dealer for repair. Try to keep the format the same so it's easy for everyone to understand. I'll start.

Radio quit working and the Ride Command Screen had to be replaced

  • Poor electrical grounding of winch — recall.
  • Wrong hydraulic unit on plow lift — would not lift 84” plow.
  • Driver’s door not latching properly — blew open when dealer’s driver was delivering vehicle. Not getting resolved until Polaris engineering investigates.
  • Windshield being replaced — improper installation.

Not a happy owner at this point!

Mine also has always popped when flexing one wheel on the front. Everything tight on mine. Love to know exactly what your dealer done to correct
 
My new engine is in at the dealer. Waiting on my courtesy ranger while the engine is replaced. Cylinder 1 miss fire every time I start it. But it appears to run great once warmed up. I don’t know.
 
That’s awesome that you’re getting a courtesy ranger! Hopefully it goes quick and well.

Agree with above 2 statements, sounds like you have a really good dealer taking care of you!
 
600 miles. I have been reporting rear end clunk for months. Just had left axle separate from differential. Barely got to use the machine on my hunting trip due to progressively worse clunk. That was the reason for buying the 1500. In the shop. Loctite is bs response.

Same. I decided to use my truck to go from my camp on one end of my hunting unit to go to the far other side, for an overnight trip. Due to fear of being stranded from the clunk. Which it’s still doing, and I’ve been to the dealer twice for it.

I had the same fear. All hell broke loose when I got home. God is great...polaris not so much. I would have dealer check your rear axles. Left on mine.

The second time I took my machine in, they supposedly did check both rear axles and all was ok for “play” and that Polaris cancelled the loctite “fix”, so that was not done. I know if I get stranded due to it, there will be no mercy on Polaris. My wife is great at arguing especially at a customer service level.
