I only hear it at low speed but I have hearing loss
100% a rotational noise, gassing and letting off does nothing
I torqued the axle nut to the 88lbs and for two days thought that was the cure but noise is now louder and more constant

All the emphasis they placed on the removal of existing loctite and then the exact product numbers for reassembling makes me believe this is the dreaded clunk repair.

OK now I understand. I thought there was more to ethanol than just green house emissions and your dealer was suggesting the lack of ethanol was causing backfire. Mine has never had anything but the minimum level suggested with no backfire. I don't buy ethanol free for anything other dirt...
