I like how they carried some of the camo into the interior. Congrats on the new XD 1500!

My dealer in SE Iowa got his first 2 in last week. He said they were not supposed to be in till December and have been moving some dates up. One of the 2 have not been picked up yet so I'm going to check it out Friday. I've been wanting to see one in person since they were announced.

I sat in a 3 seat Northstar the other day. It was sold, so no test ride. The motor sounded awesome, and it shifted like butter. I was a little disappointed in the seats however. It was a very nice machine, and I will probably own one fairly soon, but for now I have an xpedition Northstar coming next week so I'll see how I like that for a while. I know they are loud, I already have a Gilomen Quiet clutch kit waiting in my shop. Makes a huge differance.

I liked everything about the one I looked at other than I was expecting more leg room in the cab. I'm 6'8" and 275 lbs so you can imagine that bigger is better for me. It is bigger than my XP just not as much as I was hopping for. As of now I'm looking at delivery in January.

Dealer confirmed my delivery to be between late December to middle of January. It’s in production. Whatever that means. I suspect it will not be until the latter end of that timeframe. I’m trying to not set myself up for disappointment for the umpteenth time, so not counting on it until after first of year. I asked if crews were having issues and if that’s reason we haven’t seen any deliveries to anyone yet (Mine specifically. Haha). He was not aware of anything, but admittedly Polaris doesn’t tell them or their customers anything. The lack of communication is really the most discouraging thing regarding Polaris, for me.

Holy smokes Red…I can now understand the BIG Red. You are a definitely a large human being! Thought I was reasonably sized at 6’3 and 215. I have always said everything is made for small people, but I can somewhat squeeze. No such luck with 5 extra inches and 60 lbs. I figure if you can at least fit, I’m golden.

My Northstar ultimate crew is built. I happen to know of another, with those exact specs, whose order is also built. That should give you all some hope that things are moving. I will post thoughts and pics when I receive it. Assume it will be after Christmas.

Oh hell yah. Can’t wait.

I should also give some props to Polaris tracking. I have been pretty critical of the system and its lack of accuracy and credibility. The past week or two it seems to have become informative and reasonably accurate. It has followed my dealers direct information, to me, by a day or two. I am not sure if that holds true with orders out there a month or more, but it feels much better as build and delivery gets closer.

Now…that said, I do think Polaris could be more transparent with their customers. I have some hope they are listening, due to their seemingly positive response and reaction to their xpedition customers regarding the unacceptable noise issues. It sounds like they have done a reasonably good job of reaching out to many owners and are working on fixes. I hope xd doesn’t have any major problems like this.

I was told Feb for mine. So that’s a bit away yet.
