Polaris ranger 1500 sound system options

I bought the mounting brackets the quality is good and the sub box and wire harness. plug and play easy to hook up.

ATV STEREO has the wire harness to connect to an amp not expensive.
It's not the wire harness that makes this route unattractive to me. It's all the other shit you have to buy and fiddle with to add a few rear speakers and an amp. For me I'll likely just live with the system it came with.

Well I picked up my ranger from the dealer this morning. The rear sound system does improve the balance of the sound in a crew cab machine. The bass is good enough for me. I’m not looking for a window shaker system anyways. I do like that I can fade to the rear, which I heard you couldn’t. And with the equalizer you can dial it in enough. Is it worth the $$, not really, but it’s an improvement. Should cost less though. Just my thoughts on it.

You are the first semi positive review Mr C. Sounds like it was an improvement for you.

Thanks for the info Mr.C, this seems like the least painful route to go even if it is just ok. I'm still on the fence between doing this and nothing at all.

I can say, if I had a single cab, I wouldn’t do it. Again, do I think it’s worth the money? No. But I paid for my machine and all accessories at the time of purchase. There was no reviews of it yet either. After some other peoples reviews, I thought about canceling and getting refunded, but thought what the hell. It does take some time to play with the fade and the equalizer to get the sound right for your ears. At least it did for me.

Probably my disappointment of returning mine for refund is because I read a review somewhere stating there is no fade control or else I misunderstood the review .

I heard the same thing, no fade to the rear. But when I picked mine up, there definitely is and it works. I wonder if that was a ride command update?

I didn't think about a command update, that makes sense

I'm not all that impressed of the JBL sound system in the 25' Northstar Ultimate, not a ton of room to get some low end presence in a 2 door either.

I like having the stereo in the buggy, and although it's not complete crap it leaves a bit to be desired. It sounds pretty flat. I wanted an improvement but not $1100-$4k's worth. That's not why I bought this buggy. Y'all probably already know that the buggy is prewired for the rear speakers and sub. The built-in amp is designed to have the rear speakers and no additional amp is needed. The sub has to be self-powered. I didn't mind losing the rear under seat storage on my 4 door. I found a 10x10x10 ported, self-powered sub with 400wpeak/200wrms that fit with my RBO door cup holders (those intrude into the cab and limit the front/rear depth of the sub). It has decent specs, was reasonably priced, and the sound quality at normal listening levels is a vast improvement over stock without adding the rear speakers (which I probably will do as well). All in (if you have to buy Deutsch connectors and signal/power cabling), the cost is under $300. Half that if you just have to buy the sub. Is it the ultimate? No. Does it have a good cost/benefit ratio? Resounding yes.

Thanks, hogrider80 for your comments above. Is there any way you would be able to share the details of what you bought and maybe show a picture or two of your set-up?
