Polaris 84" Plow Shear Pin Information

For those of you that have the Polaris 84" plow system I have some information to share. Last year I broke a shear pin and used the spare that came with my plow. I called the dealer when it happened, and he didn't have any nor could he get one at the time. Not a big deal winter was almost over, and I could always make one if I really had to. So a month ago I asked the dealer to order some in, he said he would as he needed to have some in stock for the winter. Well yesterday I got 1 not 2 as I wanted. They still appear hard to get for some reason so if you need one before winter you might want to start trying to get one now. I did an internet search and didn't find much out there; I think 1 site showed they had it. Here is the information.

Hey Big red, I'm also having a difficult time buying these shear pins, its middle of winter up here in eastern Canada and plow is out of commission. ETA for shear pins though Polaris is May! If you have a pin intact could you take some measurements for me so i can fabricate a few? The pin is a .500" or 1/2" in diameter i believe, but i do not know the overall length, where the hole for the pin is located or where the chamfers "breaking points are too along the pin length.

Anyway you can take some measurements and pass them along?

No dice on the shear pin tonight.........I can't find it. I don't remember if the plow stores an extra one or not, I think it does. Plow is not here, it's down the street in a storage shed. I will try to get to it tomorrow night if I have time.
