I am new here to the forum. I am using a 1500 for sporting clays. Moved up from a ranger North Star. So far I am very impressed. I am sending my electronics to Gilomen next week. Will let you know how that turns out.

👍 We're in Muscatine, Iowa. Personally I'm happy we don't live that close to a Buc-ee's. At least I'd always know where my wife was! (Added that because she reads all of my posts.) 😂
 
Welcome. Good looking rig. Looks like you some panels painted or wrapped. A buddy of mines son is #1 in shooting clays. They just stayed with us this summer for a tournament. I learned there is a difference of clays and trap. Can’t remember which one he does now.

Welcome to the group rtw. Nice looking rig, it is only the 2nd black one I've seen. I noticed you have a Cam Locker toolbox on the back, 1 of only 2 companies that I found that makes one that extends far enough to fasten it to the rails without hanging over too far or using adapter brackets to make it work. Good looking set-up.
 
Thanks.. I pulled all the panels and had the exterior painted and the interior wrapped.
 
Newish Member here from Northern Wisconsin. Long post (I apologize in advance). I've been lurking for a while to gather information. And the members here have not disappointed. What a great group of people. Thank you all for the valuable info you've provided. I have almost all the accessories I wanted installed, still waiting to get the rock guards and sun visors installed. We also want to install 32" tires. This is our 4th Ranger and we have always upgraded the factory tires to the BFG Mud Terrains. So I'm looking at the options for the XD and I'm looking for some advise. I find 32X10x15 BFG KM3's with different Ply ratings. 3 Ply, 6 Ply and 8 Ply. Walmart seems to have the best price so far:

Full Set of BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 (8ply) Radial ATV Tires [32x10-15](4)​

$1,003.76 Will need a 5th as a spare.


I went back thru my records to see if I could find out what ply tires I purchased last for the XP, but can't find the receipt. The BFGs have been fantastic tires for all types of terrain. We ride blacktop, gravel, dirt, mud, snow and rock trails and roads here and these tires have done it all very well. And they're quiet on the blacktop. We had 12k+ miles on the tires we just traded in. The rear tires were only half worn. The front were more worn only because we couldn't rotate them because of the wheel width. We won't have that issue with the XD so looking forward to even longer wear. My question to you who have changed your tires is, what ply did you buy? I realize the 8 ply will probably ride rougher than the 3 ply correct? Especially over rock? Not sure though. I would think the 8 ply will have stronger sidewalls and will last longer, but not sure. Any advice or experience you have is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Very happy to be here.

P.S. We had to buy red because we wanted the fastest machine in Wisconsin. Thanks "Big Red" for the Heads Up. :)

I have Terra Masters which have a 10 ply rating that I promise would not be any better than the BFGs. I like my tires but you just can't beat BFG IMHO. I personally don't buy DOT tires due to the weight but I know others have no complaints.
It is good to hear another that recognizes how fast reds are.
 
I've been saying it long enough that I think most have come to accept it...........yes RED is the fastest color!
I have 32" BFG KM3's 8 ply and could not be happier! Great all-around tire super quiet on hard pack, wears very well, bites hard in the muck, and cleans the tread out well in really muddy applications. These are radial tires but not DOT approved. I bought mine off AMAZON from KJ Motorsports for around $1000 for 4 mounted on wheels. I have the 15" MSA Thunderlips and 4 tires and wheels ran slightly less than $1800 delivered to my door in under a week.
 
@oneal & @Big Red: Thanks for the replies. Exactly the info I was looking for. One last question please; do you notice any different cornering with the 32s vs the 30" tires. Did it change your center of gravity or seem more top heavy? I did notice on our XP 1000 it seemed a little more top heavy after going from 29s to 30s. I'm still gonna do it, just curious. TIA.
 
Mine rarely sees the road but participated in some farm tour rides and I felt due to the flat tread was better.
I will also add our land is full of rock, everything from softball size to big as a truck. Partially because of the diameter (I have 35`s), keeping them at lower pressure (18 PSI), and the fact the sidewalls are softer (non DOT) it rides better than our Honda with Growlers.
 
I have 33” km3’s dot rated. I do notice a little bit more sway in the corners than my friends 1500 with factory 29s. Not much more though and the km3 are quieter.

The laws of physics dictate that it has to change my center of gravity, no way around that. Having said that I do not feel the increased height when I drive it and have seen no difference when cornering. What I do notice is that my steering wheel does not move at 65 MPH and I have zero vibrations in my front end. This was certainly not true of the stock 30" tires even after I balanced them.
