Door safety recall R-24-06

Received an email from Polaris that they now have a solution for this. For our inconvenience, anyone having to have this done, will receive a $100 coupon towards merchandise. I’ve attached the contents of the email I received.

As previously communicated, Polaris has determined that the exterior door handle actuators on some Model Year 2024-2025 Ranger XD 1500 and Crew XD 1500 vehicles may stick and cause the door to unexpectedly open while the vehicle is moving and cause an unrestrained rider to fall out of the vehicle or increase the risk of a crash, posing a risk of serious injury.

Our records indicate that you are the owner of a Ranger with VIN 3NSX6W1R6R affected by Safety Recall R-24-06.

A repair solution is now available. To address this concern, Polaris has authorized your dealer to replace the door actuators and inspect the door handle for proper operation. This work will be performed by your dealer at no cost to you.

To get your vehicle repaired, contact your authorized Polaris dealer to schedule an appointment to have the repairs performed. Do not attempt repairs yourself. Repairs must be done only by an authorized Polaris dealer. This repair should take approximately 2 hours. When making contact with your dealer, discuss parts availability, their schedule and how long they will need to keep your vehicle.

Your safety is a top priority for us; however, we realize this safety notice is an unwanted disruption in your ownership journey. To demonstrate our commitment to you and account for this inconvenience, you will receive a $100 voucher for Polaris parts, garments, and accessories upon completion of the repair by a Polaris-authorized dealer.

Coupons will be automatically sent to you via email following the Safety Notice repair, and are redeemable either online (Polaris.com) or at an authorized Polaris dealership. Note the repair must be completed by May 31, 2025 to qualify for the coupon.

That's good to hear but sadly only when safety is threatened do they stand up and do the right thing

I got the same communication from Polaris last week. I appreciate the $100 gesture, but it barely covers the 150-mile round trip to the dealer much less my time waiting for it to be done. Oh well, crap happens...........

Same, it’s not 150 mile round trip for me. But it’s not in my nearest town either. I hope I can use the $100 towards a service. If not, not sure what I’d use it for. Unless I decide to go with a roof rack.

We just got our 1500 two weeks ago. This thread got me wondering if ours had this or any other recall. I don't really trust getting mail or emails for critical things anymore. Found this page on the Polaris website where you can check to see if your 1500 has any recalls by VIN, My garage or by vehicle. By vehicle appears to look at any and all vehicles within the categories you select so recalls under this category may or may not apply to your machine. You all may be aware of this page but I wasn't.

I was not aware either, thank you

Have had issues with both doors not locking. Dealership had a tech use a "fix" they have used on several Expeditions, but then the locks would lock me out of the driver's door. Dealer ordered replacement locks, but the tech "appropriately lubricated" the locks and they worked fine. (Sloppy repair....I had to wipe off the excess WD 40 that ran down the exterior of both doors). Haven't received any defect notifications from Polaris. 2024 Limited Ultimate 3 seat bought 3/30/24....6,200 miles as of today.

I believe if you go on Polaris’s website, you can input your VIN and it’ll check for any recalls or TSB’s. I’ve done that with my old XP. I purchased my XD about the same time as you, and my XD falls under the recall.
