Hydraulic plow lift update

Our dealership is working with Polaris to resolve the problem with the hydraulic plow lift for the Glacier Pro HD Plow Blade - 84" Steel. The hydraulic plow lift actuator is not powerful enough for this plow even though it’s specified for the 84” plow.
They tried the plow angle actuator, which works fine, in the lift frame work. It gave the same underpowered results.
Yesterday I looked up the plow lift in the Polaris catalog. It shows that it will be available in January, 2025! This makes me wonder if they know that the first models were under engineered.
The dealership representative was getting pushback from Polaris that there was a problem, so a video was sent to them.
I will update this situation when new information is learned.

Update to the above:
Polaris says that the wrong hydraulic units were used initially for these kits. They don’t have a timeframe for when the new cylinders will be available.
FYI — the wrong hydraulic units are KYB MMP5 models.

So the dealership is removing my hydraulic plow lift until the new models are available. I’ll be using my winch, but I will install a turning block on the plow and lead the hook to an attachment on the bumper. This will reduce the speed of the plow motion and reduce the power needed to raise the plow.

Might want to give it a try without the turning block first (or maybe you already did?) I find the 6000 lb. winch to have more than enough power for the plow and the speed to be about perfect for me. I not saying you shouldn't do it I'm just suggesting you test it the normal way first if you haven't already done so.

I just installed this exact unit. It seems to work fine. Only problem I encountered is my 4 position rocker switch doesn’t make contact to lower the plow. The switch isn’t available till January. lol.

I suspect once there is snow stuck o. The frame it won’t have the power. The lift cylinder is loud!

I did try using the winch and it’s way too fast — no fine control. I already have a heavy duty snatch block, from my sailboat that was trashed by hurricane Ivan years ago.

I would appreciate it if you would post a photo of the label on your hydraulic lift cylinder. Here’s a pic of mine:

Does your plough have the two separate positions for the nylon strap to hook on? In the instructions it does not show two.

Yeah, terribly slow! Mine would only lift half way. Had my wife work the controller while I lifted the plow, and then it went all the way up. If there was a snow load on the plow it probably wouldn’t lift at all!

I’m in the same boat. Was at dealer this morning. I added the top deflector and rubber cutting edge to mine. With snow on the blade it simply won’t lift.

The part numbers for the actuators are not available. New actuator in the works. Not available till mid January.

Polaris has been making plows (quite expensive ones at that) for years. How did they manage to screw something this simple up? Actuators that are too short, cylinders that are too weak to lift a loaded blade. I think there is an engineer or two that needs to be fired and sent to the competition.
