I really need a suspension upgrade, our woods are rough. I will be eager to hear you evaluation.

I'm thinking about a shock upgrade also. Really looking forward to your impressions.

Will do, plan is to get them installed this weekend. Did some research on a number of available options for our XDs and settled on these for what I’ll be using the machine for. Will post some pics and my thoughts.

Avi8or, could you also measure before and after ride height? I can't lift my machine much more than the 32" tires gave me due to garage door restrictions and a wife who wouldn't appreciate climbing up another couple inches. Also, what are you flying in your pic? I don't fly much anymore but I buzz around in a 172 once in a while.

Absolutely I will do that. The aircraft is a super decathlon. One of the things I fly when I teach tail wheel and aerobatics.

Well...got them installed. Fronts were a bit more challenging due to limited space. Rears were a breeze however I have an issue. The top adjustment gold knob is rubbing against the shock mounting bracket. Seems to me the reservoir should be mounted 90 deg off which would allow ease of adjustment. This is very frustrating since I paid fairly decent amount of money for them. Will have to wait now until Monday when Zbroz opens. Attached is a screenshot of a prototype that tested by 505 Outsiders. Can see the reservoir mounted differently which allowed them freedom of movement and no rubbing.

That sucks, it seems like a fairly obvious miss by Zbroz. I can't tell from the pictures, and I'm sure you already checked, I'm assuming there is no way to rotate the reservoir.

Yes it does. I’m sure they’ll make it right though. Just wasted time since I’ll have to pull them off and put old back on until they do. No way to rotate the reservoirs. The cap is one solid billeted piece of metal.

Me too. Said on the package front and rear Ranger 1500 XD. I spoke with them directly over the phone when ordering.

I can see that the top front mounts would be kind of a bitch to get to. Would it make a difference swapping the fronts side to side?

No difference that I could tell would matter. I got around to removing the rear Zbroz shocks this am and put the stock ones back on. There is no way for me to change orientation (without damage) to the reservoir and keep the bolt mounts where they need to be. Really hoping Zbroz will send another set that is correct and take these back. Wonder how this even happened.....

When we did the SDI E-Cliks, they had to mount in the outer shock mount holes in order to clear the frame.

Interesting. I did look at that but felt even with the shocks in the outer holes the adjustment knob would be very close to the the frame and may make contact during regular compression/movement of shock. Those eCliks too have the reservoir mounted offset from the angle of the shock bolt mounting holes. These Zbroz are not like that. Reservoir is inline with shock body.
Interested to see what Zbroz says about it.

Man that sucks! Sorry for all the bad luck you’ve been having recently with fitment issues. Looks like everyone else had some of the same thoughts as I did. Swapping sides and or the outer mounts. I’m sure Zbroz will make it right or have another idea that we’re all missing. Fingers crossed for ya.

I know, wife was saying the same thing about my string of bad luck. Will update once I find out the solution.
