That would be the answer to tight trails in our area. I don’t think I would want the maintenance issues that would be associated with something like that.About 18mins check out the 4 wheel steer. Would never go this route but would have an advantage in our tight woods.
I could live with the maintenance but I owned a Bobcat Toolcat which have fourweel steer. It really was awesome for manuverability and on a steep bank you could also make it crab which makes the machine travel in a wider swath and tremendously increases roll over safety. BUT, the front wheels to rear wheels went out of alignment about every 20 minutes due to them being hydraulically controlled, it is their nature . After about 40 hours it becomes second nature to watch the alignment in the rear view mirror. The procedure to realign is to: stop, leave the machine if 4 wheel and turn the steering wheel until the rear tires are centered, turn the selector to front wheel steer, center the front wheels, and then return the selector to 4 wheel steer. This was on a machine that traveled 17 MPH.That would be the answer to tight trails in our area. I don’t think I would want the maintenance issues that would be associated with something like that.
