Where are you getting "new" plugs for your ride. I've checked with local auto parts stores, and they all tell me Polaris
That’s the only place I’ve gotten mine from, is my local dealer. I haven’t bought any for the XD yet. But if I remember correctly, they didn’t seem out of line, price wise for the XP.Where are you getting "new" plugs for your ride. How many hours you at. I had over 500 h on my xp1000 never changed a spark plugWhere are you getting "new" plugs for your ride. I've checked with local auto parts stores, and they all tell me Polaris
187hrs. I always changed the plugs with fluid changes on our XP's as plugs came in the kit. The XD manual says 2,000 miles? How many hours you at. I had over 500 h on my xp1000 never changed a spark plug
Yes it’s every 200 hours or 2000 miles. Guess I should have replaced them in my 1000. lol. Two times. I changed them at 500 hours before I sold it. Plugs still looked fine.187hrs. I always changed the plugs with fluid changes on our XP's as plugs came in the kit. The XD manual says 2,000 miles?
Every spark transfers micro particles of metal with it. Even with a perfectly clean running engine, the electrode of the spark plugs will slowly erode. And that can cause erratic spark. Why would spark plugs in a modern fuel injected 1500 cc engine need changed at 2000 miles? I can't remember the last time I changed spark plugs in a vehicle or motorcycle. Funny how the XP1000's oil change recommendation was 100 hrs. or 1000 miles which ever came first than magically for the 2025 XP it doubled to 200 hrs. or 2000 miles. I used to ride Victory motorcycles, and they did the same shit one year. The original V92C took 6 quarts of oil (engine and trans.) and needed to be changed at 2500 miles. When the 100 CI motor came out, they upped the oil change frequency to 5000 miles and the new motor only took 4 1/2 quarts of the exact same oil. Makes a lot of sense doesn't it. The 1500 CC motor in the XD is a modern motor and not some old carbureted chunk of iron from the 70's with a distributer cap, points, and condensers. To me the 200 hrs or 2000 miles seems like overkill to me but I do it anyway. Now if you really work your Ranger hard and only run slow speeds that's a different story altogether. Either way I see no logical reason to change spark plugs at 2000 miles.
I agree with your statement, but it is a true statement for all spark plugs in all engines. Would you consider changing spark plugs in your truck twice as often as you change the oil?Every spark transfers micro particles of metal with it. I can’t say that 200 engine hours is enough to make them bad, but it definitely doesn’t hurt to check them by then and decide.
Not particularly, but my pickup also doesn’t run 6500-7000 rpm all the time.I agree with your statement, but it is a true statement for all spark plugs in all engines. Would you consider changing spark plugs in your truck twice as often as you change the oil?
