Removing Shift Lever Handle for Plow Instal

Just purchased a 2025 XD 1500 Crew, went and picked it up last night. I am trying to install the Glacier Plow full hydro system on it. The instruction pretty much suck. I have had to remove and move a ton more panels and wires and such then is mentioned in the instructions, and I could not find an install video on YouTube. Anyway I’m down to the last couple items.

1. Is the Shift handle removal, so I can put the new shift handle on with the little joystick controller for the plow. I removed the top of the shift handle and the screw that holds the main body on the lever, but I am not able to pry the body of the handle off. Do I need to cut it or is there some secret way of removing it without damaging it.

2. There is a wire labeled Chassis on the controller harness (the one that runs the joystick controller to the main wiring harness. It has 3 plugs on it 1 is tilt (angle), 1 is winch (that I assume goes to lift since I have the hydro lift) and the last is labeled chassis and it has a termination plug in it or something like that, but there is no where to plug it in.

3. And lastly where the heck do you mount the plow connection wires when you’re not using the plow.?? They just seem to dangle down. Dumb

Any help would be appreciated. This is a Polaris kit going on the flagship Polaris machine. I would think it would be a little more polished than this. The kit I put on my older Ranger XP 1000 crew was much nicer than this.

Thanks
Mike

Not sure on the whole install, as my dealer pretty much installed all my options that I didn’t want to deal with for a very minimal cost. And I wanted to pick it up fully done. But this is how they secured my plow control wires on the front of my bumper. They’re covers for the electrical connections and screw into the bumper. I’m gonna either paint them black, or buy black ones. Either way, here’s a pic.

Shift handle just smack it off. It’s pressed on a bit.

The wiring didn’t make much sense to me either. There is one plug you font use. It’s the one for the winch that goes to the wirelesss module. So long as you’re using both supplied cylinders. Tilt and lift.

Plow connections are a bit of a personal preference thing. I bush wack lots. So my connections are tucked in so they don’t get ripped off.

Thanks for the quick reply. Yeah my dealer was only able to get half the parts in by the time I picked it up, and they actually said the joystick controller is back ordered till April.. I was able to find a different dealer about 50 miles away that had the controller, so we went and picked it up. I figured I would just do the install since I did the install for my 2019 XP 1000 Crew. Your pic looks pretty close to how the XP1000 install works. You dealer however drilled those holes and put those self tapping screws in there. That’s not part of the kit. Looks good though. Not sure why there are not included in the newer model kits.

Thank you for the suggestions. Yes I have my cables tucked behind the winch fairlead, under the winch line. It stayed in place during our ride so that’s good. I guess I would have just though there would be a more polished setup.

As for the shift handle I was able to “wack it off” using a hammer and a socket extension. Worked fine, very little damage to the original part. So I will work on wiring up the handle tomorrow.

New Problem now is my Map data is F’d up. Shows I have no map. I have down loaded the latest version of the full map (25gb or so) and have tried to load it. It gets to about 25% or 30% and stops reboots the ride command then says there is no map data.

I just reformatted my usb stick, copied a new copy of the full map, and have just finished deleting all data (factory reset) of ride command. I’m gonna try and re-copy and see what happens.

Thanks all for the help

Check to see how many satellite are hooking up. It’s done through the ride command. I know mine will hiccup every once in a while.

Welp.. got everything sorted.. Got the new plow control handle all installed and wired properly. And I got the map to finally install. I ended up deleting all data from Ride Command and doing a factory reset. I then reformatted my USB and put a new copy of the full Map set. Took about 2 hours to copy to Ride Command but now it is working. As of right now I think all my issues are resolved. Thanks all for the help and suggestions.
