Hello everyone, I pick up my 24, 2 door, silver northstar this week. What is the recommended snow plow for the XD?
I also have the 84" Polaris blade; it's heavy duty and is super easy to connect. I do NOT have the hydraulics as it's fairly expensive and I like how the Plow Control systems works. Getting out to change the angle is no big deal for what I plow so the extra cost and complexity of hydraulics just doesn't seem worth it to me.Welcome and congrats on the new ride. Most of us have the Polaris glacier pro system, with the 84” blade. Most members also have the hydraulics with it as well for angle and lift. That’s what I personally have, minus the hydraulics. Haven’t had the opportunity to use it yet, but I will say, it’s very easy and quick to attach and detach from the machine. I’m sure others will chime in that have used it. There’s a couple other brands being used as well.
Yea, that is the one I am looking at. I figured I would try it with the winch and manual angle at first.Welcome and congrats on the new ride. Given how high the radiator sits, no I don’t foresee an issue at all with cooling. Even with the top plow extension it doesn’t appear to be an issue. You wouldn’t be traveling with the plow that high anyways since it only goes so high in full up position. That's a nice setup. I was looking at the upper extension or the flap for the top of the plow. Do you think the upper extension would block airflow to the radiators on a short trip. My parents are around 6 miles away. I had that problem with a 94 chevy plow truck. I couldn't raise the plow very much when driving, or the temperature would climb.
Nice!!, But question what brand and where id you get your seat covers???Have the 84" Glacier Pro with full hydraulics. Angle and lift are controlled via thumb 4-way switch on top of shifter knob. Super easy but probably not necessary. I'm just bouche like that when it comes to being dry and warm in the cab vs having to get out and change angle, etc. Totally personal preference. I've seen many others using different plow systems aside form the Polaris plow. Check online and you'll see pictures with comments. Went with the Polaris since it's a very robust set up that seamlessly integrates with our rigs. Congratulations on the new 24'!View attachment 2443
