I've been a previous owner of Polaris side by sides having an XP 800, XP 900, XP 1000. Just purchased a 2024 XD1500 Ultimate edition. Looking forward to gaining knowledge about this machine from a group of seasoned owners.

Welcome aboard Twrman. I wouldn't call us seasoned yet but there are numerous folks here learning these machines and I think almost any question asked will be answered with experience by someone.

What would be the best resource for finding a wiring diagram for the cargo box lighting harness? Downloaded the 900+ page service manual and it doesn't help at all with that. Trying to wire in my SDC Penta Star XP light controller for blinker lights using the existing tail lights and want to be able to separate them. My XP1000 had a connector under the cargo box so I could separate the left/right rear lights for blinkers.

I don't know the answer to your question but I have one for you. What are the advantages of the SDC Penta Star ?

I have had this module for quite some time. It is compact, 1/2 size of a deck of cards, so it is easy to find a mounting spot behind dash. Simple connections and I had integrated turn signals into existing lights on my previous units. They probably have a new unit but this one works great for what I need. I use a DPDT momentary toggle/rocker switch for my blinker control rather than installing a lever on the side of the steering column. Just my preference for keeping it clean looking.

Makes sense. I am considering turn signals is why I ask. I will probably just buy a kit from XTC Power Products, cost is higher but is plug and play.

Welcome to the group Twrman 77 glad to have you here. I'm no help on your wiring questions since I just bought a Turn Signal kit. From what I've seen all the kits plug into the rear lights at the light unlike the XP 1000 that plugged into the wiring harness under the bed.

Did you install yours? If so was it plug and play ? What brand?

This was the first kit I didn't install; I got lazy and got the dealer to do it for free. My kit is a RYCO Moto which is a little ugly, but it doesn't require any switches in the dash, it has hazards, horn, and taps into the turn signal blinkers in the dash. All in all, I'm happy with it. When I bought mine XTC did not have a kit out yet, that is the brand I've always used, and I like them. The WD Electonics kit at the time was a PITA to install and I didn't like the milky white turn signal strip sandwiched between the headlights. I did my own front turn signal lights as I'm not a fan of the little LED dots. Yes, it was plug and play.
