Just bought a Ranger 1500 Crew Ultimate. Planning to use it for mountain and desert trail riding. We have a Pro R we use for rock crawling (Moab and Sand Hollow Utah mostly) and for the sand dunes (around Glamis area). But wife wants to be out of the dust and climate comfortable, which we cannot do in the Pro R when on local dusty trail rides so that is mainly why we bought the Ranger. It will also be handy with some chores around the property (we have a couple acres). I tinted the windows, added rock sliders and 35" tires (for a little extra clearance), and a storage box for the bed. Planning to take our first ride up to an old mine tomorrow. I just retired a year ago from aerospace (Northrop Grumman) and we have a local group that rides frequently so now we can join them. Look forward to learning more about the Ranger and everyone's experiences. So far only problems are wiper doesn't work and day/night mode on the ride command is flakey (usually stuck in night mode even when hard set to day mode). Have not taken these issues to the dealer yet.

Welcome aboard Bloom58. Looks like a nice collection of toys you have.
Did you do any suspension mods for the 35's on the front? I had to install forward a arms to keep my 35s from rubbing.

Welcome to the group. Congratulations on the new machine and retirement. Looks like you have another cool fun on road machine there as well.

I didn't do a suspension mod although I knew it may be required. I'm going to try it this way and if it rubs I have a set of 32" wheels/tires from my Pro R that I will put on it (nice that both share the same 5-lug wheel pattern). And no problem running the 35"s on my Pro R. I am hoping it only rubs under extreme compression while turning which we may not encounter very often on our trail rides. But I am also considering installing forward A-arms since I like the look with 35s.

The Red Slingshot is my Wife's. But she does let me drive it. 😊

I went with S 3 forward arms and have been very pleased. Way beefier tubing

Welcome to the group Bloom58, good looking rig and toys. Some claim 35's work, some say they rub. I think a lot depends on the tire and wheel offset combination and how hard one flexes out the suspension. Hope it works out well.
