cold start backfire

I seem to recently have trouble with cold starts being really rough running. I start it and soon as I put in reverse it starts backfiring and blubblering around sometimes having to restart. Then go to drive and soon as it takes off no more problem.

Read Clubin's Cylinder 1 miss fire post, hope not the same but somewhat sounds similar. His had a cracked intake manifold allowing coolant in the intake.

Mine runs fine on startup soon as I put it in gear is when it starts backfiring

Not even sure that’s what it is but it pisses me off. I don’t think it’s fixed.
