I did my first service at 800 miles because it was at the dealer for a Ride Command issue. As Mr.C said above 200 hrs. or 2000 miles is the recommended service interval, and I see no reason why that shouldn't be good enough for many of us. Now if you really work this thing you might want to...
Same is true for us if you keep them off the public roads, if you do that you can do whatever you want. Iowa does not look as SXS's as on road vehicles either as they are not licensed and only require a DNR tag to be legal. They don't require turn signals, DOT tires, or many of the other things...

LOBRI - I live south of Mt. Pleasant and used to go to Muscatine often. I worked for Hearth N Home Technologies a HON Company and spent a lot of time in their facilities. You absolutely must test drive the 1500 XD in Comfort mode. You will be so impressed with the smoothness and how quiet it is...
Each year a group donates a SXS Ride to a local charity auction. The ride is for as many people that are willing to pay $150 a head which is cheap for what you get. What you are buying is the organized ride, any booze you want handed out before you leave, multiple bar stops with food and snacks...
