Anyone every heard of the xd 1500 doors locking after shutting the doors. I know it sounds crazy but my friend said it has happen several times n them?????

I follow this forum fairly close, this is the first I have heard of it. Some of us are a little annoyed with the effort required to lock them because you have to use the key.

Like oneal I have never heard of a door locking itself. There is a considerable amount of force required with a key to lock or unlock them, so I just don't see it happening unless his lock is somehow broke inside. Could it just be that he locked both doors someplace and didn't unlock the passenger side when he opened it up? A few days later tried to get into the passenger side and found it locked???

Is the male end for door striker where it shuts on frame loose? Jiggly?

I’ve had it happen many times. They replaced the locks on my machine. I noticed the new locks were more positive (like feeling a definite click) when turning the key to lock and unlock.

Before they replaced the locks I’d open and close each door several times to make sure the lock stayed unlocked.

I guess it is a new thing, suppliers must be having consistency issues.

Picked mine up January 6th and the locks are almost hard to lock and hard to unlock. Maybe they were trying to improve on this and took it too far??

My back doors will lock themselves on a ride. I imagine the fronts lock also, but getting out unlocks them. I have to reach from the front and pull the rear handle to unlock...

I experienced the "automatic driver door locking" feature as well as having both locks not locking at all. Dealer ordered replacement locks but service tech lubricated the original locks "appropriately" and got them to work 20+ items at the shop. Working so far. But sloppy trails of WD40 running down the exterior of both doors after the "appropriate lubrication" give me very little assurance or a fix.

This is nothing next to the other issues

5400 miles in 8 months of use....all roads. No trails

Windshield replacement due to leaks
Ride Command replacement due to flickering 7 dash lights
Rear axels replacement due to clunking
Winch ground recall
Terrible radio reception...no fix or upgrade available

We XD owners are experiencing largely repetitive problems. That's the frustrating thing.... Polaris should be able to address these type of problems BEFORE PRODUCTION WITH SERIOUS TESTING! I THOUGHT THIS WAS AN "EXTREME DUTY" MACHINE.......

I agree, I think the words extreme duty, could be removed. Don’t get me wrong, I love my XD over my XP. But there should have been some better QC before letting customer purchase.

If you are a little mechanically inclined you can fix the pathetic radio reception. I have an older post you can search

My driver door doesn’t actually lock itself, there is an alignment issue. If you look inside the opening near the latch you can see that it has to line up perfectly to catch the exterior door handle. Not sure why this happens but with just my pocket knives I can line it back up. Works for fifty more times and then does it again. Frustrating for sure. Will post a pic when I get time.

So far I haven't experienced door lock issues ( so far ) but have my share of others. I agree, these are all frustrating and should not be at the price point we all paid.
