I installed door mounted side mirrors yesterday. It was pretty straightforward, but I have a suggestion to offer:
I found that the internal nuts weren’t exactly inline with the dimples for the pilot holes. So when using a 7/8” hole saw, the arbor bit actually damages some of the threads of the internal nuts.
Therefore, after drilling the 1/4” pilot holes, only use the arbor bit of the hole saw enough to start cutting the 7/8” hole. Then remove the arbor bit and finish cutting the those holes.
