I currently have a 2021 1000xp and looking at upgrading to a 1500. mainly going to use for hunting. Trying to research and see how people are liking theirs with the new transmission and what issues if any. I sant find anywhere that Polaris is making a 2025 1500! did they only make them for one year? If I get one of these bad boys I will want to find snow tracks for it. Just want to make sure I am getting a reliable machine so I don't get stuck way in the backwoods.

Welcome to the group, glad to have you on board. I also had a 2021 1000XP NorthStar before the XD, my experience has been a very positive one. This rig is a beast and super smooth and quiet. I would never go back to the XP after owning this rig. Both of my brothers traded their XP's for the XD and have the same opinion. As for issues there have been a few bugs with the early machines mostly weird things related to the Ride Command software, most have been addressed by now. The few bigger issues can be found by reading the threads on this site.

Thanks for the reply. I went down that rabbit hole last night. from what I gather is some software or minor issues and some one off issues. I plan to find snow tracks eventually if I get one. is there a reason they aren't making a 2035 model? I can't find anything on that.

I'm guessing they are holding off till September or so, which is more normal for the next model year. This 2024 has not been out that long, a few were delivered in December, but deliveries didn't really start happening until January. I ordered mine in August of 2023 and it was delivered January 6th of 2024. Not sure if you want a specific color or not but I'm sure the Sunset Red and Turbo Silver will not be available next year. The camo version will be back as they always offer the camo.

You wouldn’t regret the purchase. I had a 2020 XP 1000 that I enjoyed greatly, and had no issues with it even at 4300 miles and 400 hours. It took me a long time to make the decision and I’m glad I did. I’ve only started experiencing some of the minor ride command issues. Which it sounds like it just needs updated.

I think I’m gonna pull the trigger. Not in a huge hurry but would like before cat season. Might wait a couple months to see if they decide to release a 2025 model but I can’t find any info a 2025. Been happy with the xp1000 but I want to go to a 6 seater.

I don’t blame ya on a 6 seater. The turning ability and radius seems to be improved over my XP 1000 crew cab. I have crew cabs in everything I’ve owned. Love having the extra cab space. I don’t like have my hunting packs, bows/rifles, etc in the bed. I agree with Big Red, I don’t think a 2025 model will be released until around August/september. There’s usually a big sand dune festival here in Oregon around that time and it seems it’s about the same time as a new model year is released.

I came from a 20 xp1000. It’s better in every way. 32 here today. A/C keeps up easily. My xp wouldn’t have. The 1500 towers over a 1000.

Well I might just have to wait. Was hoping they would had one displayed at UtV takeover last weekend. I live in Cheshire so not to far from the coast.

That’s true. The AC does work a lot better in the XD, plus being able to select where the air flow goes, is awesome. Plus if your out cat hunting, it’s usually cold, and the heat is improved plus the bonus of heated seats. I’d love to have 90° right now. It’s 102° at my place. Already went out on one AC call this am. Thinking in about 2-3 hours it’s gonna be busy.

It was 83 in Florence at 12 when we passed through on our way home today. Wish we would have stayed another day in coos bay lol. It’s 102 at my place as well.

Where you located?
I live in Cheshire! Out Hwy 36 before junction city. Where you located?
My house is 76 deg. Our 2 year old new u it just ain’t doing it or something is wrong. But cooler then outside lol.

my buddy has a defender and the ac in that thing doesn’t keep up if it’s even 85 outside. Just about done working outside and gonna go do some digging on the computer to find one.

I would say the XP was about the same way. But the XD is as good as a vehicle dam near. I don’t have any complaints. I have done the siless in the front cab where I can reach. Also wrapped the coolant lines in the front. Haven’t done the rear cab yet. But I run mine on the recirculation mode and I do the front vents and floor vents when I run the AC. Gilomen innovations is working on a tune for the XD’s and I’m sure it’ll include keeping the coolant down 20° like his other tunes. That’ll also help. As soon as he’s done completing the tune, I’ll be purchasing that.

Keep me posted when u get that! Pretty sure I’m gonna pull the trigger. Prob need to soon while the wife is on board! lol

Haha. My wife was on board before I was due to the more comfortable seats.

We are loving ours. Had numerous 700, 800, 1000, RZR's, and a Rhino, all had attributes but we call this the limo. Still have a Pioneer 1000 and Kubota RTV.
This is our past time for my 36 year old, special needs son, wife and I,. Typically, this is our entertainment 5 days a week so we are racking miles.

As the size and amenities increased so did the sticker so I am anxious to see the bugs worked out.

As for the reliability portion of your research I believe it is too early to say for sure. Some have had zero issues , some like mine has threw codes we do not have clear understanding of, and there are couple I personally feel got lemons.

Good luck with your decision
